Riding in a winter wonderland!

Ready for a ride
And he is still in his swim suit!
Getting ready
And he's off
BYE BYE

I'm telling the truth when I say my husband is INSANE!! He is such a riding fool! Winter does not stop this guy from getting out in the FREEZING COLD for a bike ride. He came into the kitchen the other day ready for a ride. We called time and temperature right as he was leaving out the door and it was a mere 22 degrees outside! I said, No thank you!

Christmas is really the most wonderful time of the year! There is such a warmth in the air and you can't help but be filled with joy and love. I have always had wonderful Christmas's through my life and this year was no different. My darling Dave had to work on Christmas Eve this year. The upside to that was that instead of having to stay til 6 am he got to come home at 2. I went to my parents house and ate some Christmas turkey and then we all played Rummy and Yatzee. We had a good quiet evening at home. My mom gave me a ride to take Dave some food and me home after. I really believe that a Christmas spirit was watching over me and my mom that night. As we were driving to Dave's work, the streets were quiet and we were just enjoying each others company. As we were going through a light a car came flying through the intersection and all I could see was two head lights aimed straight for the drivers side. I was sure that we were in trouble. A split second went past, almost like I blinked and the car was gone past us. I cannot explain what happened but it was pretty amazing. I was so scared, my heart was pounding and I think I pry said a choice word or two (sorry mom :-) ) but we were fine. It all happened so fast and I still cannot figure out how we were not harmed. Thank you God!
Christmas morning was so much fun too! Dave and I got up and opened all our gifts. My favorite part was bringing out this huge box a few days before Christmas for Dave. I thought that I had him tricked real good this time. I bought him a Rocky Mountain gift card which is to his favorite motorcycle shop, and wrapped it in 4 boxes, one just a little bigger than the other til the biggest one and then wrapped it all up in paper. Little did I know that he was on to me the whole time and did not tell me until later that night when I asked him if he had a good Christmas and if he was surprised when he opened his big box. He laughed and asked if I wanted the truth?? I think I gave him a slug in the arm and told him that he is NO FUN!!! Dave made sure that I had what my heart desired for Christmas as well with a new ipod touch. I was really excited!! We went to our traditional Christmas breakfast at my parents house of breakfast cassarole and belgian waffles. YUMMY! Then we gathered together as a family and exchanged gifts. I had my brother Skylar this year. I made sure to put out my wish to Brad who had me that I wanted my very own tool kit. I love to hang stuff up in my house and am usually in need of some kind of tool BUT if I wanted to use a tool I have to go out to the "man cave" to find one. I have to dig through all kinds of man things...tools, motorcycle parts, tires, grease, dirt...GROSS! For those of you who know me well know that I HATE to get my hands dirty. It is so gross to me to have dirty hands and that is always what happened when I went on a tool hunt. All of my husbands things from the "man cave" are covered in grease and grime and half of the time I can never find what I am looking for anyways. So I wished for my very own woman tool kit. Brad did so well and got me just what I asked for. The bag and tools are even pink. I used it that very night to tack down my carpet in the kitchen and I did not even have to go outside or get my hands dirty :-) We also had a little new comer to our family this year, Dayton. Who spoiled this Dayton rotten? I AM GUILTY! Every single thing that I saw when I went shopping this year that I thought for a second he would want or need I bought. It was such a wonderful feeling to see him on Christmas get everything his little sweet heart could desire and know that we all love him very very much! We are so happy that he is apart of our family.
After Christmas mayhem at mom and dad's we headed out to see Grama and Grampa Faux. When we were kids, my family, aunts, uncles, cousins, grama and grampa could all meet together at the same time at their house. Not so much anymore! Everyones families have grown so much and Grama's house has not. We had a nice time with Grams and Gramps! Dave and I continued our journey over to Dave's parents house. We got to spend some time with them and also some other family that we don't see often. At about 4:00 we had just about had our Christmas fill and so Dave and I came home, climbed into jammas and layed in front of the tv the rest of the night. The next morning a Christmas mess was left behind :-)
