Henry's Lake Vacation 2009

The Reese's live here!
The Reese Cabin on Henry's Lake
Reese's Relaxin'...it's true!

It was that time of year again that both me and Dave wait patiently to come around...time to go to the cabin! Dave's parents own an incredibly beautiful cabin right on Henry's Lake in Idaho and every summer we get to go relax in the mountains. We got all packed and hit the road and as exciting as it was to go we had a hard time leaving our boys behind. Only spoiled rotten Annie got to go with us this time. We got to do so many wonderful things and see so many wonderful things. The cabin is a place of peace where you can forget your worries and clear your mind. My favorite part of our trips to the cabin is going into West Yellowstone but for us who have been there even at least once it is just West. West is this amazing little town right at the west entrance to Yellowstone. They have all kinds of stores to shop and restaurants and the Playmill. My favorite store of all is this book store called The Book Peddler and I spent hours in there and came out with many treasures. We ate a our favorite restaurant called Pete's Pizza and also got to go see the play Footloose at the Playmill. My father-in-law has a boat there and Dave and I and Annie went for a boat ride and got caught in a rain storm but it was so fun. For those that know me, know that I love to play cards with my mother-in-law. We play a game called Hand & Foot and when she lives down here in the winter time we play together once a week never fail. She has a group of ladies that she plays cards with at the cabin 3 times a week and they have a blast! So I went to card day with her once to another lady's home and then she hosted on the second day we played. It is so much fun and I really enjoy her company and also her adorable friends. We had our own games through the week as well. Dave taught me how to carve wood also and we made walking sticks. Before we started Dave said, "Now be careful with the knife, its sharp and I don't want you to cut yourself!" Not more than an hour later I had sure enough cut my finger. I guess I didn't listen and should have cause the knife was sharp indeed! I love the cabin for many reasons, the beautiful scenery, the fresh air, the stars and sky that go on forever but most I love spending time with my sweet husband and my 2nd set of parents. I love their company and their hospitality that they have shown me in their home.

Viva La Vida

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sweep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

Some new pictures of my kids

Annie sawing logs on my pool chair
No action out the front window so Bruce took a nap
Such an adorable little face
Mr. Kitty having a nap in the yard
Gizmo is so photogenic

These are just some new picture I took recently of my kids. Toby is missing cause he hates to have his picture taken. He literally runs from the cameras so its only once in awhile that we get pics of him but my other little guys love to get their picture taken and some of them are just so priceless I can't help but show them off. I love these little dogs more than I could ever explain. They are my babies and both me and my husband adore them. I love to take pictures of them and most of the time they turn out so good that I think that they understand what I am trying to do when the camera is out. We give them all the love and attention that we possibly can. We kiss them, hug them, snuggle them and spoil them and they deserve every single bit. Mommy loves you guys!

Camping Adventure!

Dave in deep thought...I couldn't resist

This past weekend we decided it was time to make a camp trip so we packed up the dogs, got some food and headed up the canyon. We have this spot up above Sundance that we love, its our spot. We headed that way but the spot was already taken so we drove down the road a bit and found another little area that was just as good. We spent the whole day going on hikes, taking pictures and letting our dogs run around like maniacs. A small rain storm rolled through early in the day but was over in few minutes. The thunder was amazing. You cannot hear such a thing down in the valley and we loved every minute of it. We went on a hike and I was quite the chicken. I was afraid of everything for some reason. I was scared there were snakes and bugs that were going to get me and there was a time that Dave got to far ahead of me and I was totally alone in the middle of the forest and I about had a panic attack! We got off the trail and were walking straight through the forest and I was terrified we were lost but my genius husband found our way and we made it back down to camp. Sometimes I am just a scaredy cat! We had so much fun and our dogs ran themselves ragged. They were filthy dirty by the time we got home and had to have a scrub down in the hose outside. Another rain storm came through later in the evening and we decided to head home instead of sleeping over night. It was a great adventure and hopefully we can have a real camp out sleep over soon.
